VFTech · custom software for small businesses

Your software. In your name. From day one.

VFTech designs and builds web apps and mobile apps for small and mid-sized businesses. You work directly with the engineers writing the code, test the results at the end of every phase, and own everything — the code, the servers, the domain.

What we build

Software your business runs on every day — to sell, serve customers, stay in control, and grow.

  1. Sketch of a web app: a dashboard with charts connected by arrows to forms, a spreadsheet and data tables.

    Custom web apps

    • Laravel
    • SvelteKit
    • Next.js

Dashboards, customer portals, internal tools and automations that replace spreadsheets and manual busywork.

  2. Sketch of one codebase powering two phone apps.

    Mobile apps

    • React Native
    • Expo

iPhone and Android apps from a single codebase, published under your company’s App Store and Google Play accounts.

  3. Sketch of a system with a broken connection under a magnifying glass, being reconnected to a database.

    Rescuing stalled projects

    • Code audit
    • Documentation

Your last developer disappeared, or nobody understands the system anymore. We’ll assess what’s there, tell you honestly whether to fix it or start over, and get it back on track.

  4. Sketch of a server connected to the cloud, a database and an automated pipeline.

    Hosting & cloud

    • Docker
    • Cloud
    • CI/CD

Servers, automated deployments, backups and cloud costs under control — all set up in your own account.

Three ways to hire a dev team. Only one puts you in the room with the people writing your code.

Each option has its place. Here’s the honest comparison.

How it works: you follow the project phase by phase

Projects slip when nobody’s watching. Here, every phase ends with something you can test.

  1. Day 0

    A quick call

30 minutes to understand your business and the problem. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll tell you on the spot — and point you to someone who is, if we can.

You get: an honest opinion, whether or not we work together.

  2. Week 0

    Fixed scope, fixed price

We break the project into short phases of 2–6 weeks. Each phase has written deliverables and a fixed price.

You get: a one-page proposal that spells out what’s in and what’s out.

  3. Start of phase

You approve the prototype, then we build

Before we build each phase, we show you a prototype of what’s coming. Once you approve the prototype, we start building.

You get: a prototype of the phase to approve before we build it.

  4. End of phase

    Delivery per phase

At the end of each phase we ship what’s done to a test link you can actually use, on your phone or laptop. Changed your mind? That becomes a new item, quoted before any money changes hands.

You get: a test link + a short summary at the end of each phase: what’s done, what’s next, what we need from you.

  5. Launch

    Full handover

Live software, docs on how to run and deploy it, and team training. Includes 90 days of free bug fixes. After that, ongoing support only if you want it.

You get: the signed handover sheet (below).

You own everything — from day one, not just at the end.

With managed hosting, the servers sit in VFTech’s account, but the code, database and backups stay yours, and we move everything to your account whenever you want.

Your repository, cloud account and app store accounts are created under your company’s name, and you give us access. If you ever decide to stop working with VFTech, you don’t have to ask for anything back. It’s already yours.

No exotic tech

We use mainstream tools — Laravel, React, SvelteKit, Docker — that thousands of developers know. If you ever switch vendors, any experienced developer can pick it up.

Cloud and hosting in your account, domain and app store costs are paid by you directly to the providers, and VFTech helps with signing up and setting everything up. We also offer managed hosting.

5 questions to ask any software vendor. Including us.

You don’t need to know how to code to hire well. You need to ask the right questions.

Whose name will the code and servers be in?

Why ask. If they’re in the vendor’s name, you depend on them forever.

Our answer. Yours, from day one. See the handover sheet above.

When will I see something working?

Why ask. A vendor who only shows you the finished product can hide delays until the very end.

Our answer. At the end of the first phase, on a test link. And again at the end of every phase.

What happens if I change my mind halfway through?

Why ask. Changes are normal. Finding out what they cost on the invoice is the problem.

Our answer. It becomes a new line item with a price, and you approve it first. Nothing gets billed without your OK.

Who exactly will write the code?

Why ask. It’s common to pitch a senior engineer and staff the project with a junior.

Our answer. A senior VFTech engineer — the same person you’ve been talking to. We never hand projects off to juniors. If it needs more people, we’ll introduce each one before we start.

If you disappeared tomorrow, could another developer take over?

Why ask. Undocumented code built on niche tech locks you to whoever wrote it.

Our answer. Yes. Mainstream tech, docs every phase, and all credentials in a vault you own.

Our own product

Troco: we build for ourselves, too.

Troco — personal finance, without borders. An iPhone app that brings income, expenses, accounts, cards and net worth together in one place, across 9 currencies. Designed, built and maintained by VFTech.

In public beta on TestFlight. Coming soon to the App Store.

What it shows about our work

  • A complete product, from idea to public beta: multi-currency personal finance in an iPhone app.
  • Statement import (OFX, QFX and CSV) with no duplicate entries, and category suggestions that learn on your own device.
  • Privacy end to end: on-device AI with local processing, no ads, no tracking and no sign-up.
  • A shared cash book, synced through iCloud.
Troco app Summary screen: a consolidated balance in two currencies with the exchange rate used, shortcuts for new transaction, transfer and reports, the month’s income, spending and result, and upcoming commitments. Troco app Transactions screen: search, filters by type, account, category and currency, monthly totals, cards in reais and US dollars, and scheduled entries. Troco app Wallet screen: accounts and cards in reais and US dollars, with each account balance and card statements.

About VFTech

Small on purpose.

VFTech is a small software studio. No account managers, no sales department, no bench of interns. What you get is a senior core team that talks to you directly and owns what it ships.

Senior core, no hand-offs
The people who design the solution write the code. Your project doesn’t get passed to a junior once the contract is signed.
You talk to the people building it
No middleman. Your questions go straight to someone who can answer them — because they wrote the code.
We scale with people we know
When a project needs more hands, we bring in senior partners, and you see each partner’s profile. They don’t join meetings: the conversation stays with whoever coordinates, because stopping the whole team for a meeting doesn’t help the project. VFTech stays accountable for quality.

Experience building software for education, healthcare, government, fintech and mobile. Backed by 10+ years of senior engineering.

Based in Brazil, working your hours

Brazil is 1–2 hours ahead of US Eastern time, so we overlap most of your workday. We work in fluent English. Contracts and invoices are issued in BRL by our Brazilian company, and you can pay from abroad via Wise.

Who we’re for (and who we’re not)

Let’s talk if…

  • You need software or an app that doesn’t exist off the shelf.
  • You want to stay close to the project and make decisions together.
  • You have a stalled or abandoned system that needs to get moving again.
  • You value predictability more than the lowest price.

We’re probably not your best option if…

  • You need a simple brochure website. An off-the-shelf builder will do it for less.
  • The project needs 10+ people working on it at once.
  • Your main criterion is the lowest possible price.
  • You need it all done in a few days, with no time to scope it.

Straight answers

How much does it cost?

It depends on scope. Projects start at US$ 1,350 for a simple system with one core feature, login and deployment. Projects with mobile apps, integrations or more complex rules cost more. On the first call we give you a realistic range, and in the proposal each phase has a fixed price.

How long does it take?

A first useful version usually takes 4–10 weeks. We’d rather ship something simple early and build on it than go months without showing you anything.

What if the person working on my project becomes unavailable?

Fair question to ask a small studio, and the answer is in how we work, not how big we are. Everything is in your name from day one, documented every phase, with credentials in a vault you own. If whoever coordinates your project becomes unavailable, another senior VFTech developer picks it up with the full history. When a project needs more hands, we bring in senior partners and you see each partner’s profile; they don’t join meetings, the conversation stays with whoever coordinates. And if you’d rather, any experienced developer can take over without needing us.

Can I see the code?

Anytime. The repository is yours from day one, so you — or anyone you trust — can look whenever you want.

What do the contract and payments look like?

A simple contract covering scope per phase, timeline, price and warranty. We issue a formal invoice. The first payment is due when the contract is signed; the rest follow the schedule set in the contract — monthly, biweekly or per phase — adapted to your company’s needs. Contracts and invoices are issued in BRL by our Brazilian company; you can pay from abroad via Wise.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes. We sign an NDA before you share business details, if you prefer.

What happens after launch?

You get 90 days of free bug fixes. After that, you can keep us on a monthly support plan or work with someone else. Your call — and the code is still yours.

Do you work with US companies?

Yes. We work with US businesses in English, overlapping your working hours. Contracts and invoices are in BRL, and you can pay via Wise.
